Egg Story

Farm fresh eggs break out of the refrigerator determined to live life on their own terms in this hilarious and surreal story of hopes, dreams, murder-suicide and ninja fighting. It's about eggs, but it could be about any of us.

"If Egg Story were an animated movie, it would be proclaimed as a masterpiece; it's just as good in comic form, and at this price it would be a shame to miss out. This is a wonderful allegory about human nature; put aside just one of your House of Incontinent Crises comics this month and instead treat yourself to a touching story packed with real characters and real personalities."
Kelvin Green - Comics Bulletin

"it's doubtful that you'll want to stop reading this delightful little story. "
Michael Arner -

"This is a wonderful fable about initiative and determination, featuring some great comedy, and a terrific use of the comic medium."
Johanna Draper Carlson - Comics Worth Reading.

a convincing and oddly touching story about growing up.

Like both Watership Down and Toy Story, Egg Story works so well because it has a lot of heart. Schmidt has avoided turning the whole book into one long joke, and somehow manged to write an entire story about eggs without a single pun. That sort of thing takes amazing amounts of restraint, not to mention a whole lot of talent. The sort of talent, as a matter of fact, that will make a book about eggs one of the sweetest, funniest and most interesting books you re likely to read all year.
