OMWO by James Turner is now on Kickstarter!

SLG Publishing is proud to present OMWO, a new graphic novel by James Turner, the acclaimed creator of Rex Libris.

If you know James Turner’s work, you already know he does not make ordinary comics. His books are dense, funny, strange, intricate, and visually unlike anything else on the shelf. His pages invite you to slow down, look closer, and let the world he has created reveal itself one odd, wonderful detail at a time.

OMWO continues that tradition.

OMWO is  filled with bold design, surreal humor, strange beings, impossible logic, and a world that feels both absurd, and deeply human. This is a book by someone who has truly sat through too many meetings.

For  forty years, SLG Publishing has made a home for comics like this: creator-driven books, unusual voices, offbeat stories, and graphic novels that do not always fit neatly into a category. From early cult favorites to books that helped define the independent comics scene, SLG has always believed that comics are at their best when they are personal, surprising, and a little bit dangerous. That is why we are bringing OMWO to Kickstarter. Publishing a graphic novel like this takes time, care, and resources. Your support helps us cover the costs of production, printing, fulfillment, and promotion, while also allowing us to put the book directly into the hands of the readers most likely to appreciate it. Backing this title says there is room in the world for something weird and different, something that comes out of a place we are all (well, almost all) familair with; the corporate meeting and winds up in crazy place. James Turner has been criminally overlooked in terms of being a comics creator which is why we are also offering his entire SLG library here as well. You could spend weeks reading these things and still not be able to get through them all before Christmas because when we say James's work is dense and detailed, we mean it.
